About HHmHispanic Heritage Month is September 15th-October 15th. Why does it start in the middle of the month? Because, according to the Hispanic Heritage Month website, September 15 is a significant day in Latin American countries because it is the anniversary of independence for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Additionally, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and 18 respectively.
