Create a Story Time VideoPull out your favorite childhood story book and share it with our younger students for fun and community service hours! Ms. Green, our FSI Elementary Librarian is looking for students to make videos to share with her younger student.
To begin, chose a book you really like, one that excites you, one with a great story, relatable characters, and some action. Think about what you like about the book, why do you want to share this book? Can you use special voices for the characters or make funny noises? How can you get our younger readers excited about this book, too? Tips from Ms. Green: Pick a book with lots of pictures Practice before you begin to record Begin the video by talking about why you like/chose the book Be sure to introduce yourself, the author and the illustrator |
CHeck this spreadsheet to see which book have already been read by Ms. Green: Read Alouds Calendar.
Add your story to this Google form: Stories read by FSHS Students
Film your story |
You can either:
Use your phone to take pictures of the pages, then video as you read and scroll through the pictures or check out a book through the public library. Pull it up on your browser and then use an application such as Screencastify or Screencast-o-Matic to film while you read. See video below. Other applications, such as Loom, may work as well. As long as we can upload it to You Tube, it's probably ok. |
Share with Mrs. M. |
The best way to share with Ms. Green will be the URL for an unlisted You Tube video. If you do not have a You Tube account, share your video file with me ([email protected]g) and I will get it uploaded and shared.
